- Tecnisata in partnership for Project Sea2Future -
- Tecnisata is on a partnership with Higher Nautic School Infante D. Henrique, for the project Sea2Future that consists in a series of projects to develop applied maritime robotics technologies. The projects are about several autonomous non-tripulad vessels or remote control ships (unmanned surface vehicle - USV), aiming to gain knowledge on technological solutions to implement in a remote control or autonomous unmanned vessel project.
- The students of different bachelor degree courses will work on the vessel construction project USV-enautica1, aiming to acquire competencies as well as new future research development (RD&I) and innovation projects applied to several areas.
- Our support on this partnership was to machine the mold from an Expanded Polyurethane block, for the Nautic School to be able to produce the hull of the vessel in fiberglass.
- It was challenging because we never machined this material before and didn't know what to expect. Some special cautions were necessary regarding the machining and fixing to the CNC table, as well as handling. There was no tolerance for error because at minimal distraction we could damage the material.
- Tecnisata recognize the relevance and importance these projects have for the development of maritime automation technologies that will certainly be applied in a rapidly growing market.
